    Description

We are seeking a compassionate and creative volunteer to help us build a library of calming audio and video content used during hospice volunteer visits. These materials support both the patients and your fellow volunteers emotionally and physically by creating peaceful, grounding moments — whether through soothing music, gentle soundscapes, or calming visuals.

This role is intentionally broad and inclusive. Content may be audio-only, visual with sound, or a combination. Some recordings may also include subtle cues to support volunteers in checking in with patients and themselves during visits.

    What You’ll Do

    • Create calming audio and/or video content for hospice patients
    • Develop audio-only options (music, ambient sound, guided calm)
    • Design content that supports rest, relaxation, and emotional comfort
    • Include gentle cues or pauses that help volunteers remain present and responsive
    • Collaborate with the volunteer coordinator to ensure content is appropriate for hospice care

Types of Content You Might Create

    • Ambient nature sounds (rain, ocean, forest, wind)
    • Soft instrumental music or soundscapes
    • Audio designed for rest or sleep
    • Visuals such as slow-moving nature scenes, abstract light, or gentle color gradients
    • Mindfulness or grounding audio with minimal or no spoken guidance
    • Content designed for quiet companionship or end-of-life comfort

    Skills & Experience

    • Basic audio or video creation/editing skills (any tools welcome)
    • Confident working independently and receiving feedback
    • Sensitivity, empathy, and respect for hospice patients and families
    • No professional experience required — creativity and compassion are most important

    Why This Role Matters

Your work will directly support hospice patients by creating moments of calm, beauty, and presence. These recordings can be used repeatedly by volunteers, allowing your contribution to have a lasting impact on patients and families during deeply meaningful moments.

    Benefits of Volunteering

    • Flexible, remote opportunity
    • Meaningful contribution to end-of-life care
    • Creative freedom within a supportive mission
    • Opportunity to build a portfolio in wellness, healthcare, or nonprofit media
