Volunteer Subcommittee

The Volunteer Subcommittee Member supports Bakhita Mountain Home’s efforts to build a strong, dependable, and engaged volunteer community. Members help identify volunteer needs, recruit and welcome new volunteers, strengthen onboarding and training, coordinate volunteer opportunities, and develop meaningful ways to recognize and retain volunteers. Responsibilities may also include promoting volunteer opportunities, supporting special events and projects, and helping ensure volunteer activities align with the organization’s mission and survivor-centered, trauma-informed practices.

Ideal members are passionate about supporting adult women survivors of human trafficking and are organized, dependable, collaborative, and comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds. Volunteer coordination or community engagement experience is helpful but not required. Members should attend regular committee meetings, complete agreed-upon action items, maintain appropriate confidentiality and boundaries, and serve as positive ambassadors for Bakhita Mountain Home. Training, guidance, and staff support will be provided.
