    Description

Host Family for high school exchange student in Chicagoland area

Host an International Exchange Student 🌍

    Short-Term (2 Weeks) & Long-Term (Semester or Year)

    Location: Greater Chicagoland area

    Organization: Greenheart Exchange

Open your home. Change a life. Experience the world—without leaving your community.

Greenheart Exchange is seeking host families to welcome international high school students into their homes through two meaningful opportunities:

    🇨🇳 2-Week Chinese Student Experience (Short-Term)

This summer, local families are needed to host Chinese high school students for a two-week cultural exchange. Students attend structured activities and programming during the day, and host families provide:

    • A safe, welcoming home
    • Meals and a place to sleep
    • Everyday cultural exposure (family time, errands, simple outings)

This is a great option for families who want to try hosting without a long-term commitment.

    🌎 Semester & Academic-Year Exchange Students

We also place students from around the world who attend local high schools for a semester or full academic year while living with a host family. These students are carefully screened, insured, and supported throughout their stay.

    Host families:

    • Provide a bed, 3 meals a day, a place to study
    • Receive ongoing support from a local coordinator
    • Gain a meaningful cultural exchange experience and lifelong connections

Families of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to apply—single parents, couples, retirees, and families with or without children at home.

Hosting is a powerful way to make a difference, promote cultural understanding, and bring global perspectives into your home.
