    Job Title: Manager of Marketing & Communications

    Organization: The African Think Tank (TATT)

    Location: Remote (U.S. based preferably, Dallas OR Charlotte)

    Weekly Commitment: 10 hours per week (Minimum)

    Reports To: Director of Communications & Public Relations

    Position Overview

    The Marketing & Communications Manager will lead and oversee TATT’s social media and communications strategy, ensuring all content is timely, engaging, and culturally relevant. This role is ideal for a creative, strategic communicator passionate about amplifying African voices, strengthening community connections, and enhancing TATT’s visibility across platforms.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement TATT’s marketing and communications strategy aligned with organizational goals.
    • Attend Weekly Social Media and Communications Committee meetings.
    • Collaborate with program leads to promote events, workshops, and fundraising initiatives such as the Ubuntu Fundraising Gala.
    • Ensure consistent brand identity and messaging across all communications.
    • Monitor engagement metrics, analyze performance, and recommend improvements.
    • Support media outreach and cultivate relationships with press, influencers, and community partners.
    • Provide communications guidance to TATT leadership, regional directors, and committees as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Strong understanding of marketing, branding, and communications strategies.
    • Experience managing social media platforms and digital campaigns.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with cultural sensitivity.
    • Ability to balance creativity with strategy, tailoring messaging for diverse audiences.
    • Familiarity with the African Diaspora community and cultural contexts strongly preferred.
    • Organized, proactive, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Commitment to TATT’s mission, vision, and guiding values of Trust, Diversity, Belonging, and Community.
