    Description

Volunteer at the Coast 🌊 | 1-Month Creative Residency (November 2026)

    Description

We are offering a 1-month creative volunteer residency for a self-funded international volunteer to join our community-based work at the Tanzanian coast in November 2026.

This residency is designed for individuals interested in creative, child-centred education and healing-oriented community engagement, while living in a slower, intentional coastal environment.

The experience balances meaningful contribution, community living, and personal reflection. It is not a tourist or short-term volunteering experience, but a values-aligned residency rooted in service and mutual respect.

    Responsibilities

The volunteer will support ongoing creative and healing-centred initiatives, which may include:

    • Assisting with creative education activities and workshops
    • Supporting community and child-focused programs
    • Participating in shared daily rhythms and community responsibilities
    • Engaging respectfully with local culture and practices

Specific tasks will be shaped collaboratively based on skills, interests, and community needs.

    Required Qualifications

    • Interest in creative education, healing work, or community development
    • Openness to communal living and shared responsibilities
    • Cultural sensitivity and respect for local contexts
    • Ability to commit to the full 1-month residency (November 2026)
    • Self-directed, adaptable, and collaborative approach

    Benefits

    • Accommodation in a shared home
    • Daily meals (with access to cook independently if preferred)
    • Immersion in a grounded, intentional coastal community
    • Space for learning, reflection, and personal growth
    • Opportunity to contribute meaningfully to community-based initiatives

    Logistics

    • Location: Tanzanian Coast
    • Duration: 1 month
    • Dates: November 2026
    • Residency Contribution: USD 580 (self-funded; covers accommodation and meals)
    • Eligibility: International applicants welcome

Travel costs, visas, insurance, and personal expenses are the responsibility of the volunteer.

    How to Apply

Interested applicants should apply through Idealist with:

    • A short statement of interest explaining why this residency aligns with you
