Description
Job Title: Department Director Self-Governance and Compliance Volunteer
Location: Remote
Department: Self-Governance and Compliance
Reports To: Executive Director
Type: Internship (Part-Time) (Unpaid)
Duration: 6 Months
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee internal audit and compliance processes.
- Monitor and evaluate organizational policies, procedures, and risk management practices.
- Collaborate with department directors to conduct audits, assessments, and compliance reviews.
- Track implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and operational standards.
- Oversee employee offboarding processes, including exit surveys and system access removal.
- Lead and mentor Project Managers and Compliance team members.
- Support weekly leadership meetings and organizational governance initiatives.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for executive leadership.
- Assist with organizational contracts, compliance documentation, and special governance projects.
- Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Audit and Compliance Activities
Conduct regular reviews to ensure:
- Employee profiles and records are complete and up to date.
- Staff members are assigned to projects and tasks.
- Time tracking and task management requirements are followed.
- Team and division meeting participation is maintained.
- Organizational policies and procedures are consistently applied.
- Company-wide engagement and operational metrics are monitored and reported.
Requirements
- Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Experience in compliance, auditing, operations, project management, or administration preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to organizational accountability and continuous improvement.
- Minimum commitment of 7–10 hours per week.
