    Description

The New York State Mentoring Program is hosting a "Day of Mentoring" for 8th-grade students at a Schenectady middle school on Thursday, May 21st, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

This event is designed to bridge the gap between education and aspiration. Our primary goals for the day are:

    • To create a supportive environment where students can explore diverse career paths.
    • To equip students with essential life skills and tools for college and career development.
    • To empower students to pursue their passions and realize their full potential.
    • To foster a lasting sense of belonging and connection between mentors and mentees.

We're looking from volunteers from all industries. If you're a social media influencer, athletes, veterinarian, engineers, artists, nurse and a plumber or mechanic, it's a plus. But we are mainly looking for individuals to share their wisdom and career path with the students.

Next Steps: All volunteers will be required to attend a one-hour virtual Mentor Training session prior to the event.
