Description
Join our Community Gardens and Urban Forestry intern and fellow volunteers to spread the word about our free street tree planting program in Watervliet and Albany! During the weekends of July 25-26 and August 1-2, volunteers will canvass neighborhoods in pairs, letting homeowners know they're eligible to have a FREE tree planted by Capital Roots along the street adjacent to their property.
Volunteers will meet up at a park or other public location, and receive maps, informational door hangers, and instructions. Volunteers will canvass the neighborhood in pairs, letting homeowners know that they're eligible to have a FREE tree planted by Capital Roots along the street adjacent to their property. Street trees beautify neighborhoods, provide shade and cool buildings in urban heat islands, and improve air quality, among other benefits.
