Who we are looking for:
You are enthusiastic about teaching foundational skills in a supportive, non-competitive way. You prioritize encouragement over performance and can help beginners feel successful while learning basic techniques.
What will you be doing:
- Teach basic basketball skills (dribbling, passing, shooting fundamentals)
- Lead simple drills focused on skill-building rather than competition
- Encourage teamwork, participation, and positive reinforcement
- Adapt activities to ensure all participants can engage comfortably
- Work alongside staff to maintain a structured, safe environment
Why is this job needed/important:
- Physical activity supports both mental and physical health. This role introduces youth to movement in a positive, confidence building way without the pressure of competition.
Where: Idaho Youth Ranch Residential Center for Healing & Resilience (Caldwell)
Availability: One 2-hour session between the hours of 9:00am – 12:00pm MST; 1:00pm – 5:00pm MST (June 1–5; morning or afternoon)
To volunteer for this opportunity, you will need to be at least 18 years old.
