Community Outreach & Grant Support Volunteer
Position Purpose
Support the hospice's mission by identifying community resources, grant opportunities, charitable partnerships, and other programs that can provide additional support to hospice patients, families, and the communities we serve.
Volunteer Duties
- Research local, state, corporate, foundation, and community grant opportunities that may support hospice programs and patient and family needs.
- Maintain a grant opportunity tracker including application requirements, deadlines, funding amounts, and status.
- Assist with gathering information and documentation needed for grant applications.
- Assist with drafting grant applications, letters of inquiry, community support requests, and other funding materials under staff supervision.
- Research community organizations, foundations, businesses, churches, civic organizations, and other potential community partners.
- Assist with outreach to organizations regarding donations, sponsorships, community programs, and available resources.
- Identify community resources that may benefit hospice patients and families, including food, transportation, caregiver support, bereavement resources, and other assistance programs.
- Maintain and update a directory of community resources and partner organizations.
- Assist with coordinating community donation drives and charitable initiatives that support hospice patients and families.
- Assist with tracking donations, community contributions, grant activity, and program outcomes.
- Support administrative activities related to community outreach, volunteer initiatives, and charitable programs.
- Assist with other hospice administrative and community support projects as assigned.
