    Description

    The Lagoon Legacy Project is seeking motivated high school students interested in environmental leadership, community service, and conservation to expand our work in:

    Orange County • Indian River County • Volusia County • St. Lucie County

    Selected students will help lead a local chapter focused on reducing nutrient pollution and educating their communities about the impact of runoff on Florida's waterways.

    Responsibilities

    • Recruit and lead a small team of approximately 3–5 high school students
    • Organize local educational, service, and awareness events focused on lagoon runoff and nitrogen pollution
    • Coordinate hands-on initiatives that take direct action to reduce or prevent nutrient pollution
    • Represent The Lagoon Legacy Project within your local community
    • Work with and receive guidance from the broader nonprofit leadership team

    What We’re Looking For

    • Current high school students in or near one of the listed counties
    • Interest in environmental science, sustainability, conservation, or community leadership
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Willingness to take initiative and build a local team
    • Prior leadership experience is helpful but not required
