    Job Position: (Volunteer) Information Accuracy Board Vice Chair

    About Gender Freedom Society:

    Gender Freedom Society is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to building an inclusive and supportive community for gender-diverse people. Through education, advocacy and community building, we create spaces where everyone can thrive in their authentic selves.

    Candidates for this position must be residents of North America.

    Role Summary:

    As a (Volunteer) Information Accuracy Board Vice Chair, your focus will be to support the Information Accuracy Board Chair and Information Accuracy Board team members in ensuring accuracy in all information used by the organization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to information accuracy and fact-checking processes.
    • Review all materials, including articles, publications, social media posts, and educational resources, to ensure accuracy and alignment with the organization's mission.
    • Conduct thorough fact-checking of all information presented by the organization, verifying sources and ensuring credibility.
    • Collaborate with other board members, staff, and volunteers to ensure consistency and accuracy in messaging across all platforms.
    • Develop training materials and provide guidance to staff and volunteers on best practices for ensuring information accuracy.
    • Assist in responding to misinformation or inaccuracies, participating in the correction process as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong understanding of gender-related issues and familiarity with current debates, research, and best practices.
    • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively across diverse teams and subject areas.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute positively to discussions and decision-making processes.
    • Prior experience in fact-checking, research, or editorial roles is beneficial but not required.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience setting up workflows, leading teams, or overseeing projects.
