    Pet Therapist Volunteer- Kingman

    If you are looking for an opportunity to provide some pet companionship and make a difference in people's lives, consider volunteering with Hospice.

    Most of us know the positive feelings that we have experienced from pets, whether it be a dog, cat or other animal. Pet therapy has proven to have abundant benefits from companionship to bringing back positive memories of their own pets to just bringing a smile to someone's face upon feeling a fluffy, loveable animal.

    1. Does my pet need to be a certified therapy animal? Yes.
    2. Can I choose my days and times I volunteer? Yes!
    3. Can I volunteer around my work/school schedule? Yes! Patients can have visitors throughout the days, evenings and weekends.
    4. How often would I need to volunteer? As often as you'd like. You can do once a month, twice a month or weekly if you'd like
    5. Can I shadow someone first to see if it would be a good fit? Yes, email me and we can set this up!
    6. How long would I have to commit to volunteering? As long as you'd like.
    7. Is medical training required? No.
    8. Would we have to do any personal care for the patients (including eating, bathing, etc)? No. This is not allowed to be done by our volunteers.
    9. Do I have to be Covid vaccinated? No!
    10. What kind of animals are accepted? Dogs, cats, birds, rabbit, gerbil, etc.
    11. Do we have to have a valid drivers license and car insurance? Yes.
