Description
AGLOW International Matteson Single Moms Group is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides encouragement, practical support, helpful resources and community to single mothers and their children throughout the Chicagoland area.
As we expand our outreach and prepare for programs and events in 2027 and 2028, we are seeking mothers and other caring individuals who are willing to volunteer their time, talents, resources or professional connections.
We Need Volunteers to Help With:
- Coordinating and communicating with volunteers
- Planning and organizing events
- Registering and welcoming attendees
- Making outreach and follow-up phone calls
- Assisting families during events
- Distributing backpacks and school supplies
- Distributing Christmas gifts to children
- Promoting programs throughout the community
- Connecting single moms with helpful resources
- Completing other administrative and outreach activities
We Also Need Fundraising and Sponsorship Support
We are looking for individuals who can help us:
- Develop fundraising campaigns
- Identify and contact potential sponsors
- Build partnerships with businesses, churches and community organizations
- Secure monetary and in-kind donations
- Locate grant and sponsorship opportunities
- Help fund our upcoming 2027 and 2028 programs and events
You do not have to be a single mother to serve. Whether you can help at one event, work behind the scenes, make phone calls, raise funds or introduce us to a potential sponsor, your contribution can make a meaningful difference.
When we strengthen a single mother, we strengthen her children, her family and our entire community.

We're all working moms so it would help to know what your area and level of interest is. For example, Are you able to help with making phone calls to our database when events are coming up or directly after for follow up and feedback? For our back to school event, we always need people to help with packing backpacks with supplies, helping with setup/takedown of the event, greeters, people to sit at the registration table, a project manager (some one who agrees to be the point person to coordinate all of the different tasks assigned for an event-it doesnt mean you personally handle each task. Rather, you delegate and follow up). Are you comfortable with making suggestions for events or ways to serve single moms? Are you good at marketing / social media / technical stuff? Do you have experience with, or connections to people/companies that would align well with and support what we do? We always need sponsors! How much of a time commitment are you planning on?
