    About Children Across America

Children Across America is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to STEM and literacy education for children ages 4–11. Through hands-on robotics, coding, and creative STREAM learning (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math), we help children build confidence, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills.

Children Across America has an established STEM program serving children ages 4–11 and is actively expanding our Girls Love to Code initiative.

This project helps support programs like Girls Love to Code, which introduces girls ages 4–11 to coding, robotics, and technology.

Our programs include a free Saturday STREAM program as well as a summer STREAM and Girls Love to Code club designed to give children early exposure to technology and engineering.

    Position Overview

We are seeking a volunteer grant writer to help Children Across America secure funding from foundations, corporate giving programs, and STEM education grants. This volunteer will play a critical role in helping expand free programs for children and families.

    Responsibilities

    • Write and submit grant proposals to foundations and corporate funders
    • Assist in preparing letters of inquiry (LOIs) and grant applications
    • Work with our leadership team to gather program information and budgets
    • Help develop compelling narratives about our mission and impact
    • Track submitted proposals and grant deadlines

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with grant writing or nonprofit fundraising
    • Strong writing and research skills
    • Interest in STEM education, youth programs, or nonprofit development
    • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly

    Why This Role Matters

Grant funding allows Children Across America to provide free STREAM education programs to children who might not otherwise have access to robotics, coding, and technology learning opportunities.

Your work will directly support programs like Girls Love to Code and help expand educational opportunities for young learners.

Students, early-career professionals, and experienced grant writers looking to support a meaningful cause are all encouraged to apply.

This is also a great opportunity to build a portfolio of grant writing work while making a real impact.

Priority will be given to volunteers with experience in education, STEM, or youth program funding.
