Join The Cat Ranch Board and Help Lead Its Future

Board service with a possible path to day-to-day sanctuary leadership

The Cat Ranch is looking for committed board members who want to help guide our nonprofit and care for its future. We are especially interested in people who, after working alongside current leadership and building mutual trust, could be ready to take responsibility for day-to-day operations.

Our existing cat sanctuary sits on six acres near Babcock Ranch, Florida. Four employees currently help with cleaning and daily cat care. We also have approximately 30,000 social media followers and an established donor base. We are looking for the right people to help sustain this work, with the well-being of the cats already here as the first priority.

We want to build a board with complementary strengths. Experience in animal rescue, sanctuary or shelter operations, fundraising, nonprofit governance, financial oversight, volunteer leadership or facilities management would be valuable. We welcome people who bring practical experience, sound judgment and a willingness to follow through.

Board members would help:

• Protect consistent, compassionate care for our existing cats.
• Strengthen fundraising and relationships with donors and community partners.
• Review resources, operating needs and plans for the sanctuary’s future.
• Support staff and volunteers through clear responsibilities and dependable leadership.
• Plan for emergencies and continuity of care.
• Build a thoughtful succession plan with the current board.

For someone interested in eventually leading daily operations, this is an opportunity to get to know the cats, staff, routines and responsibilities before any transition. The right fit will understand that sanctuary work includes daily care, cleaning, coordination with veterinarians, good records and reliable coverage, as well as fundraising and administration.

We are looking for a relationship that develops through shared work and trust. Any move into operational leadership would be agreed with and approved by the board. Joining the board does not guarantee a future leadership appointment.

Board service is volunteer. A future operational role could include compensation if sustainable funding supports it and the board approves. No salary or paid role is guaranteed. This opportunity does not include a promise of housing or any transfer of property.
