Through the Community Builder Program, the New Town City Library Special Projects Coordinator supports library services, cultural preservation efforts, and digital inclusion for the residents of New Town, North Dakota. This position will play a key role in expanding access to educational programs, preserving Indigenous history, and connecting local organizations to build a more vibrant and informed community.

Participate in AmeriCorps training and activities as required by Souris Basin Planning Council
Benefits include a monthly living stipend, a housing/grocery stipend, and an education award after successfully completing service commitment. This is 300-hour AmeriCorps service commitment that pays $4,500 through bi-monthly living stipends, and an education award of $1,565.08 after successfully completing the service commitment.
About the Host Site:
The New Town City Library started in Sahnish, ND. When Sahnish folded (Garrison Diversion), it moved to the basement of Dr. Wilson's clinic on Main Street, New Town ND. Due to a flood in the basement in 1965, it was moved to a larger room in the clinic basement. In 1070, it was adopted by the City of New Town and moved to 103 Soo Place, New Town ND. In 2017, New Town City Library moved to its present location at 307 Main Street, New Town ND. The space increased from 1,000 feet to 3,800 feet.
