    Description

    Hospital Elder Life Program Volunteer

The Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) is a direct patient care program that helps prevent delirium and functional decline in older hospitalized patients. Using a trained team, HELP addresses a wide range of geriatric issues during a patient’s hospitalization by providing support to keep the patient comfortable and conducting activities to keep them mentally and physically active. We do this through engaging patients in the following:

    • Regular volunteer visits to check in and reminisce
    • Meal set-up and ordering assistance
    • Playing mind- engaging games
    • Stretches
    • Hearing and vision assistance
