    Description

No Experience Necessary! - Just a smile, a kind heart, and your time!

Docents are trained to introduce tour groups to the Whittier Museum's special and permanent exhibits using a variety of techniques that encourage the visitors to look at, discuss, and gain insight into the first 100 years of Whittier's history. The museum features interactive exhibits, models, and artifacts from antiquity to the contemporary period. Our goal is to provide education and foster an enjoyment of Whittier history in our visitors.

Weekday docents are needed from 8:30 am to noon to support weekday school tours, and weekend docents are needed on Saturdays, 10 am to 3 pm.

Docents must be prepared to provide tours to diverse audiences, including school children, young adults, educators, seniors, visitors with special needs, and those for whom English is not their first language.
