About PromiseStudios | Media, Storytelling & Creative Production

PromiseStudios is MAP’s creative division responsible for podcasts, storytelling, publishing, and multimedia production. Through initiatives like PromisePod and Promise Frequencies, the division produces content that is emotionally resonant, culturally grounded, and rooted in lived experience.

    Role Overview

We are seeking a Voice Actor to bring scripts, stories, and creative content to life through voice performance.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the emotional power of voice—tone, pacing, rhythm, and presence—and can deliver performances that are authentic, engaging, and aligned with MAP’s storytelling values.

Voice Actors may contribute to podcasts, narrative storytelling, educational content, audio experiences, and creative campaigns.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Interpret scripts with emotional depth, clarity, and authenticity
    • Adapt tone and delivery based on audience, content type, and creative direction

    Script Collaboration

    • Collaborate with writers and producers to understand intent, tone, and message
    • Provide feedback on scripts when appropriate to enhance delivery and clarity
    • Support revisions and re-recordings as needed

    Audio Production Support

    • Record clean, high-quality audio using appropriate equipment (home setup acceptable)
    • Follow technical guidelines for file format, pacing, and delivery
    • Coordinate with audio editors for revisions and final production

    Creative Collaboration

    • Contribute to storytelling across podcasts, campaigns, and multimedia content
    • Work closely with PromiseStudios teams and support PromiseBrands initiatives when needed
    • Maintain timely, professional responsiveness via Google Workspace

    • Strong vocal delivery, clarity, and expressive range
    • Ability to interpret scripts and convey emotion effectively
    • Reliability and ability to meet deadlines
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills
    • Alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered values

    Preferred

    • Experience in voice acting, theater, podcasting, or audio storytelling
    • Access to basic recording equipment (microphone, quiet recording space)
    • Experience with audio editing or recording tools
    • Multilingual abilities are a plus

    Commitment

    • Volunteer role
    • Approximately 5–10 hours per week (project-based flexibility)
    • Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
    • Fully remote with optional NYC-based collaboration

    What You’ll Gain

    • Experience in voice acting and storytelling for mission-driven media
    • Collaboration with writers, producers, and creative teams
    • Opportunities to build a voice portfolio across diverse content formats
    • Professional references and letters of recommendation
    • A meaningful role helping bring stories, voices, and experiences to life
