The Challenge:
Fencing is a sport of speed, intellect, and precision. But for new students and spectators, the complex rules and rapid hand signals can be overwhelming. Have you ever asked yourself: “I saw the red light turn on, so why did the referee give the point to the other guy?”
Our Solution:
To bridge this gap, TYFC created Fencing Simplified. This initiative is designed to make professional fencing knowledge visual and intuitive. We don’t just teach you how to fence; we teach you how to read the match.
What We Cover:
- Decoding "Right of Way": Simple logic to explain who gets the point in he foil, épée, and sabre.
- The Three Weapons: A clear breakdown of target areas and tactics for Foil, Epee, and Sabre.
- Tournament Talk: We translate rigid terminology into plain English (or other language), so watching a match is no longer a guessing game.
We believe that true appreciation begins with understanding. Our mission is to guide every parent and student from confusion to confidence, clearing the way for you to experience the pure joy and beauty of fencing.

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity
Position: Digital Content & Translation Volunteer (TYFC Fencing Simplified)
Organization: Taiwan Youth Fencing Club (TYFC)
Location: 100% Remote / Online
Time Commitment: Flexible (Approx. 2–4 hours per month)
Role Type: Volunteer / Unpaid
Official Volunteer Certificate: Upon completion of your hours or a specific project milestone, you will receive a formal TYFC volunteer certificate detailing your service hours and contributions—perfect for university applications, CAS hours (for IB students), or your professional resume.
About the Project: Fencing Simplified:The Fencing Simplified initiative is TYFC’s digital educational campaign designed to break down the complexities of fencing. We transform technical rules, piste etiquette, safety guidelines, and the core values of sportsmanship into engaging, bite-sized social media content. Our goal is to lower the barrier to entry and make fencing accessible to our "Future Athletes" across different backgrounds and regions.
Role Summary: We are seeking creative and culturally adaptable volunteers to help us expand the global reach of our Fencing Simplified campaign. In this role, you will play a crucial part in translating educational materials, designing engaging social media graphics, and localizing our content to resonate with international audiences. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about youth sports, digital marketing, and cross-cultural communication.
