    We work with your schedule! Volunteers can visit once a week, twice a month, or once a month—whatever fits best for you. Typical visits last 1–3 hours, but timing can be flexible based on your availability and the patient’s needs.

    Description

    Do you speak more than one language and want to make a meaningful impact? As a Bilingual Volunteer with CorsoCare, you’ll provide companionship, support, and connection to patients who may feel more comfortable communicating in their native language.

    What You’ll Do

    • Communicate with patients in their preferred language to provide emotional support and
    • companionship
    • Assist families in understanding care instructions and updates when language barriers exist
    • Help patients feel seen, heard, and understood through conversation and connection
    • Support activities such as reading, reflection, or light engagement in the patient’s preferred language

    Note

    • Support needs can vary by area and are dependent on our current patient census
    • We recommend volunteers take on Companionship (English) visits while opportunities in their chosen language become available

    Requirements

    • Fluency in English plus one of the common languages spoken, such as Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, or Hindi
    • Compassion, reliability, and strong communication skills
    • Completion of volunteer training program
    • Background check and TB test
