    Description

    Description:

My Good Brain (MGB) is a 501(c)(3) arts nonprofit dedicated to youth mental wellness through art and play.

The SF Bay Area Outreach & Events Coordinator Volunteer supports My Good Brain’s community outreach efforts by helping represent the organization at local, family-friendly events, workshops, booth events, and outreach opportunities across the SF Bay Area. This role is best for volunteers who live near or can reliably travel to event-heavy areas such as Redwood City, Daly City, Colma, and potentially Hercules.

Volunteers may help with event preparation, tabling, sharing resources, supporting art classes or workshops, communicating with community partners, and engaging with children, families, and community members. Because SF Bay Area events may take place in different cities, reliable transportation or guardian permission, if under 18, is strongly preferred.

    Responsibilities may include:

    • Supporting MGB at local SF Bay Area family-friendly outreach events, booth events, workshops, or tabling opportunities
    • Helping with art classes, creative wellness activities, or youth/family-centered workshops
    • Helping prepare materials for events, including toolkit assembly, handouts, art supplies, or resource materials
    • Sharing MGB resources and information with children, families, caregivers, and community members
    • Helping communicate with local partners, libraries, schools, or community organizations when needed
    • Supporting library workshops or outreach opportunities in specific areas, such as Hercules, if applicable
    • Communicating availability, event attendance, and schedule conflicts in advance through Slack and Asana

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Located near or able to travel to Redwood City, Daly City, Colma, Hercules, or surrounding SF Bay Area cities
    • Reliable transportation or guardian permission if under 18
    • Comfortable attending in-person events and working with children, families, and community members
    • Interest or background in the arts, including visual arts, performing arts, creative activities, or arts-based wellness
    • Interest in youth mental wellness, mental health awareness, community outreach, nonprofit work, or public health
    • Consistent, reliable, responsible, and able to follow through on event commitments
    • Good communication skills and ability to work well with a team

    Time Commitment / Expectations:

Volunteers should be available to support occasional in-person outreach events in the SF Bay Area during their volunteer term. Events may vary by location and date, so applicants should be able to communicate their availability clearly and in advance. This role may also include remote coordination through Slack and Asana.

    Application Note:

    • Priority will be given to applicants located near Redwood City, Daly City, Colma, Hercules, or nearby areas, since many outreach opportunities are concentrated in those locations.
    • Applicants should be comfortable supporting in-person, family-friendly events involving children, families, art activities, and youth mental wellness.
