    Description

    Join the Walk to End Alzheimer's - Southern Illinois Event Committee

    The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Have you ever stopped to wonder what makes this event so successful and memorable? One Word.... Volunteers! TOGETHER WE CAN #ENDALZ

    Reasons to Get Involve

    • Meet and engage with other dedicated individuals while having fun, being part of a team and supporting a great cause.
    • Help us advance the fight against Alzheimer's Disease and all other dementia.
    • Give back to your community while finding ways to harness your own unique talents and skills.
    • Enjoy a flexible volunteer experience either in-person or hybrid.

    Types of Committee Activities Include:

    • Social Engagement: Identify potential sponsorship opportunities or recruit new company teams through on-line research and community involvement; Coach and support our walk participants through phone calls, emails and writing personalized letters or thank you cards; Strategize and implement ways to build community awareness about Walk to End Alzheimer's and our mission.
    • Event Day Logistical Planning: Coordinate detailed plans for each area of the event to optimize the walk experience for all participants; Incorporate the Association's Mission Pillars (Advocacy, Education and Support). Create a safe, fun and well-marked Walk route; Secure entertainment and additional event day volunteers as needed;
    • In-Kind Donations: Canvas our community to identify local businesses and vendors to partner with for donated goods or services to be used towards the walk event and additional wrap-around events throughout the year. (examples - refreshments, supplies or host venues)
    • * * Please contact Olivia Strothmann if you are interested in joining our 2026 Walk Committee, oamajerchin@alz.org I would like to set-up a time to talk about the many ways to get involved! * * *
