    Description

Compassionate Volunteers Wanted in Bend Area

Looking for a meaningful way to make a difference? Join us in providing companionship for our Bristol Hospice Bend patients. Spend time engaging in activities they enjoy—or simply be a comforting presence as part of a caring team dedicated to enriching the lives of patients and their families.

Every conversation has the power to bring light into someone’s life. Companionship visits bring moments of comfort, connection, and hope for patients nearing the end of life. By sharing stories and heartfelt conversations, you can remind someone that they are seen, valued, and never alone. If you feel called to make a difference in this meaningful way, join us. We’ll guide you through training and welcome you to the Bristol Hospice Bend Volunteer Team, where your presence can truly change lives.

We can tailor your volunteer gifts to work directly with patients as a companion, help create a memory journal, read poetry or just hold someone's hand, to name a few.

Bristol Hospice Bend features a strong team of volunteers devoted to making a difference in the lives of our patients and their loved ones. Our volunteers step forward to bridge the gap between the services of the professional care team and the patient's family. Our goal is to provide comfort, companionship, conversation, read or tell stories, write letters or share in the patient's hobby.

Hospice Volunteering provides irreplaceable help to those that are suffering from a terminal illness and their families. There is a wide variety of services that a volunteer can provide such as

      • Social visits/Companionship
      • Play games
      • Watch movies
      • Read to them
      • Write the person’s life story for future generations of their family
      • Music (sing or play an instrument)
      • Art (paint or draw with patients)
      • Light housekeeping
      • Respite sitting (stay with patient while caregiver takes a break)
      • Run errands

The ideas are endless here, and everyone has something to give.

When you give your time as a volunteer with Bristol Hospice Bend, you join a team of individuals dedicated to providing patient-centered care and comfort during advanced-stage illnesses. Hospice volunteers offer companionship, compassionate help and support for patients and their loved ones when they need it most. Volunteers provide an empathic, respectful and caring presence for patients and their loved ones.
