    Role Overview

    The Director of Communications is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that elevates the voice, visibility, and impact of iamALIVE, Inc. This role ensures consistent, compelling messaging that reflects the organization’s mission to empower youth affected by bullying and promotes awareness, engagement, and support across all audiences.

    This leader oversees branding, digital presence, storytelling, and content development to inspire action, increase community engagement, and strengthen stakeholder relationships.

    Key Responsibilities

    Communications Strategy & Brand Management

    • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan aligned with organizational goals
    • Ensure brand consistency across all platforms, materials, and messaging
    • Refine and maintain iamALIVE’s voice, tone, and storytelling approach

    Content Development & Storytelling

    • Create compelling content for social media, newsletters, website, and campaigns
    • Highlight youth stories, program impact, and community partnerships
    • Collaborate with internal teams to translate programs into engaging narratives

    Digital & Social Media Management

    • Oversee and grow iamALIVE’s presence across social media platforms
    • Develop content calendars and engagement strategies
    • Monitor analytics and optimize content for reach and impact

    Public Relations & Media Engagement

    • Build relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers
    • Draft press releases, media pitches, and public statements
    • Identify opportunities for media coverage and public visibility

    Internal Communications & Collaboration

    • Support internal communication efforts to ensure alignment across teams
    • Collaborate with outreach and leadership to amplify initiatives and partnerships

    Analytics & Performance Tracking

    • Track communication metrics (engagement, reach, conversion)
    • Provide insights and recommendations to improve communication effectiveness

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field (Master’s preferred)
    • 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations
    • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
    • Experience managing social media platforms and digital campaigns
    • Knowledge of branding, messaging strategy, and audience engagement
    • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights)
    • Ability to translate mission-driven work into compelling content
    • Experience in nonprofit or youth-focused organizations preferred
    • Passion for advocacy, youth empowerment, and social impact

    Estimated Commitment:

    • 8–12 hours per week (flexible scheduling)

    Availability Expectations:

    • Attend bi-weekly leadership or team meetings (virtual)
    • Participate in monthly planning and campaign meetings
    • Provide consistent weekly content and communication oversight
    • Be available for real-time communication needs during campaigns or events
