    Description

    Hospice Care - Companionship Volunteer

Become a Hospice Volunteer – Bring Comfort, Dignity, and Connection

    Our Mission

Every moment matters. Our hospice program is dedicated to ensuring that individuals in their final chapter of life are surrounded by compassion, dignity, and human connection. We believe no one should face this journey alone — and that the smallest acts of kindness can leave the deepest impact.

    The Impact You’ll Make

As a hospice volunteer, you’ll be a steady presence in someone’s life when it matters most. Whether it’s holding a hand, sharing a story, reading aloud, or simply sitting in peaceful silence, your time will bring comfort not only to patients but also to their families. You’ll help create moments of peace, joy, and connection that will be remembered long after.

    What You’ll Do

    • Visit patients in their homes to offer companionship and emotional support.
    • Read, write letters, play music, play games, or engage in light conversation.
    • Provide respite for family caregivers so they can rest and recharge.
    • Assist with small errands or light activities that bring comfort.
    • Offer a listening ear and a compassionate heart.

    What You’ll Bring

    • A caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
    • The ability to listen without judgment and be present in the moment.
    • Reliability and respect for confidentiality.
    • No medical experience required — we provide full training and ongoing support.

Why You’ll Love Volunteering With Us

    • Comprehensive training to help you feel confident and supported.
    • Flexible scheduling — even a few hours a month can make a difference.
    • A welcoming, supportive volunteer community.
    • The profound reward of knowing you’ve brought comfort and dignity to someone’s life.

To become a volunteer, all you need is a compassionate heart. Our volunteer training will teach you everything you need to know. Training and orientation are arranged to fit your schedule, and you will be provided with an assignment that fits your schedule, location, and interests. Our office is located in Simpsonville, but we have volunteer opportunities throughout Greenville County and beyond.
