    Thrift Shop Volunteer

    The Garret Thrift Shop in Walnut Creek is seeking volunteers who want to make a positive impact in their community while supporting the mission of John Muir Health, Walnut Creek Medical Center. Volunteers help with collecting donations, sorting and pricing merchandise, visual merchandising, and assisting guests at the register. Just two 3‑hour shifts per month, with flexible scheduling, can make a meaningful difference.

    Proceeds from The Garret Thrift Shop directly support John Muir Health by helping fund state‑of‑the‑art medical equipment and valuable community outreach programs.

    How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

    New volunteers will begin by completing the John Muir Health Volunteer Application. After submitting the application, volunteers will be asked to complete a background check and, once cleared, proceed with the required QuantiFERON tuberculosis screening. These steps must be completed before volunteer training can begin.
