Outreach Volunteer

Opal’s Heart, Inc. is seeking Outreach Volunteers who are interested in giving back, serving the community, and helping us provide dignity-centered support to individuals experiencing homelessness and basic-needs insecurity.

Outreach Volunteers support OHI during community outreach events by helping prepare and distribute resources, assisting participants, and ensuring events run smoothly. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on service, teamwork, and making a direct impact in their community.

Responsibilities

• Assist with local community outreach events and activities
• Help with event setup and cleanup
• Assist with distributing Care Bags, meals, supplies, and other resources
• Provide friendly, respectful assistance to individuals being served
• Work collaboratively with OHI staff, volunteers, and community partners
• Represent Opal’s Heart, Inc. in a professional, compassionate, and respectful manner

Time Commitment

Outreach Volunteers are asked to commit approximately 2.5 hours per event. Volunteers may participate based on their availability and the outreach opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Must be dependable and able to work as part of a team
• Must demonstrate compassion and respect toward individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions and assist where needed
• Customer service, volunteer, or community outreach experience is helpful but not required
• Must have reliable transportation to and from outreach events
• Must attend scheduled outreach events as agreed or communicate promptly if plans change
