    Description

    Responsibilities

    • Plan and lead engaging virtual classes for girls in underserved communities in countries such as Kenya, India, and South Africa.
    • Teach subjects such as math, science, English, coding, robotics, art, dance, public speaking, or other areas of interest and expertise.
    • Create a positive, supportive, and interactive learning environment that encourages curiosity and growth.
    • Communicate regularly with program coordinators regarding scheduling, lesson planning, and student progress.
    • Encourage student participation, foster confidence, and serve as a positive role model for young learners.

    Qualifications

    • Current or rising high school student.
    • Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching, mentoring, or working with children.
    • Reliable, responsible, and committed to attending scheduled classes.
    • No prior teaching experience is required.
    • Volunteers who speak a second language are highly encouraged to apply, though it is not required.
    • We have a particular need for volunteers interested in teaching robotics, coding, STEM, and technology-related subjects.
    • Speakers of Filipino (Tagalog), Spanish, Swahili, and other languages are especially encouraged to apply.

    Time Commitment

    • Flexible scheduling based on volunteer availability.
    • Typically 1–2 hours per week, depending on the class and program needs.
