Overview
Tree Farm Steward Volunteers work to reduce fire hazards by clearing overgrowth in the HOP Campus tree farm. With limited access to heavy equipment, volunteers play a vital role in manually removing dead trees, thistles, and stumps in overgrown areas.
Responsibilities
- Clear dead trees, stumps, and thick undergrowth
- Remove invasive weeds and thistles
- Reduce fire hazards by thinning overgrown vegetation
Qualifications
- Physical stamina and comfort with outdoor work
- Familiarity with hand tools or light equipment preferred
- Commitment to working safely in wooded environments
