Citizenship Class Instructor (Volunteer)

Position Description: Teach U.S. citizenship classes to support your lawful permanent resident (LPR) neighbors in preparing for the citizenship exam administered by USCIS as part of the naturalization process. Will be paired with a co-teacher and guide a class focused on Civics and the Citizenship interview (in English or Spanish, depending on the student's individual eligibility) through materials and lesson plans provided by CARECEN.

Time Commitment: 4 hour per week for 12 weeks (3 hours of class time, 1 hour to coordinate and prep with co-teacher), plus one training and teacher meeting.

Skills Required: Proficient knowledge of U.S. citizenship test content, bilingual ability (Spanish, English) and experience teaching English & Civics and/or working with adult learners.
