    Description

As a Hospice Companion Volunteer, you provide compassionate presence and meaningful connection to individuals receiving hospice care. Through friendly visits, conversation, and simple shared moments, you help reduce isolation and bring comfort during an important time in a person’s life.

This role centers around connection—not clinical care. Your presence can create a sense of peace, dignity, and belonging for patients and their families.

    What You’ll Do

    • Visit patients in their homes or care facilities
    • Engage in conversation, active listening, and companionship
    • Share simple activities (reading, music, reminiscing, etc.)
    • Sit quietly when needed—offering a calm, supportive presence
    • Provide emotional support through kindness and consistency

    Who You Are

    • Compassionate, patient, and dependable
    • Comfortable talking with people from all walks of life
    • A good listener who values meaningful connection
    • Open to both conversation and quiet presence
    • Able to honor personal boundaries and confidentiality

    What We Provide

    • Training and orientation to prepare you for the role
    • Ongoing support from hospice staff
    • Flexible scheduling based on your availability
    • The opportunity to make a direct, lasting impact

    Impact

Your time and presence can ease loneliness, bring comfort, and create meaningful moments for someone at the end of life. Often, it’s the simplest acts—sitting together, listening to a story, holding a hand—that matter most.
