    ABOUT FACE FRIENDS FOUNDATION

Face Friends Foundation, Incorporated is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing poverty and inequality through workforce development, food security, and community-driven economic equity.

We are building the Gwinnett International Workforce Academy — a commercial culinary incubator kitchen and digital literacy center opening March 1, 2027 in Sugar Hill, Georgia, serving Gwinnett County's most diverse communities and extending into Saint Mary, Jamaica through our International Volunteer Program.

We operate as a fully virtual, 100% all-volunteer organization. Our Volunteer Executive Staff are skilled professionals who bring real expertise to a real mission — not resume-builders looking for a title, but people who want their time to mean something.

    THE OPPORTUNITY

Face Friends Foundation is seeking a Director of Volunteer Management to own the engagement, retention, and accountability infrastructure for our 40-member Volunteer Executive Staff.

This is a permanent internal seat — not a provisional or trial engagement. We are looking for a leader who wants to build something that lasts, not someone passing through.

The foundation has the platform, the people, and the mission. What it needs is a director who wakes up caring whether the team is engaged, supported, and moving — and who has the professional experience to build the systems that make that happen consistently.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

Volunteer Engagement Own the engagement health of the VES roster. Monitor platform activity, identify members who are going quiet, and intervene early — through support, re-engagement, or the structured compliance process — before engagement gaps become departures.

Retention & Recognition Build and maintain a culture where volunteers feel seen, valued, and connected to the mission. Develop recognition touchpoints, milestone acknowledgments, and retention practices that reflect the foundation's values.

Compliance & Accountability Own the three-layer compliance chain — peer outreach, formal compliance contact, and escalation to the Executive Director — ensuring every seat decision is documented, fair, and grounded in policy.

Onboarding Partnership Work alongside the Recruitment & Onboarding Coordinator to ensure every new VES member lands with clarity, support, and a real first assignment — not just a login and a task card.

Weekly Reporting Deliver a brief weekly engagement summary to the Executive Director — who is active, who needs attention, and what decisions are pending.

    WHAT YOU BRING

    • Demonstrated experience in volunteer management, HR, people operations, or a related field
    • The ability to hold people accountable with warmth and professionalism — firm without being punitive
    • Strong written communication skills — your outreach represents the foundation publicly
    • Comfort working in a fully virtual, asynchronous environment
    • A genuine belief that people are the foundation's most important resource
    • 2 to 3 hours per week on an ongoing basis

    WHAT YOU GAIN

Permanent Named Director Role You join the foundation as Director of Volunteer Management — a permanent seat on the Volunteer Executive Staff with real scope, real responsibility, and real impact.

Mission That Matters You are building the people infrastructure behind the Gwinnett International Workforce Academy — an institution that will serve Gwinnett County families for generations.

Direct Executive Access You report directly to the Executive Director and operate as part of the foundation's senior leadership layer.

Academy Seat Incentive After one year of verified service, you receive a fully funded seat in the Gwinnett International Workforce Academy — a curriculum covering nonprofit leadership, fundraising, financial management, organizational strategy, and community development.

Professional Recognition Your role, title, and tenure are verifiable on the foundation's official LinkedIn page.

IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING

This is a volunteer position. It is unpaid. Face Friends Foundation operates with an all-volunteer executive staff. Every member of our leadership team gives their time without financial compensation because they believe in what we are building.

This is a director-level seat with director-level expectations. We are not looking for a coordinator. We are looking for a leader who can build and run a people engagement system for a 40-member virtual organization.

If you are looking for paid employment this role is not the right fit. If you are a people operations or volunteer management professional who wants a permanent leadership home where your work visibly moves a mission forward — we want to hear from you.
