    Description

    Program Summary: 2Life is searching for a book lover to host a book club for our Leland House Residents! After choosing a book to read for the month with the group, the volunteer would come onsite once a month to host a 1-hour discussion about the book. The volunteer should prepare discussion questions to fill the hour.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Help residents choose a book to read each month
    • Commit to a monthly schedule
    • Prepare discussion questions for the event
    • Socialize with residents who attend

    Impact Goal: A book club would provide residents an opportunity to socialize, encourage lifelong learning, and promote shared interests.

    Qualifications:

    • Must enjoy reading and be willing to read the chosen book each month
    • Strong communication skills
    • Willingness to lead a discussion

    Benefits: Obtain experience working with older adults, accomplish something rewarding, cultivate new intergenerational friendships, and practice your facilitation skills.
