    Description

CLAREMORE, OK! Because No One Should Face the Journey Alone.

Sometimes the Greatest Gift Is Simply Being There

A hospice patient may not remember every detail of their day, but they will remember how someone made them feel.

Many patients facing a life-limiting illness spend long hours alone. Some miss having someone to talk with. Others simply need a caring presence to brighten their day. A volunteer's visit can provide comfort, companionship, and connection during a time when it is needed most.

You do not need special medical training to make a meaningful difference. Sometimes the most valuable gift you can offer is your time.

As a hospice volunteer, you might:

    • Read a favorite book, newspaper, or devotional to a patient
    • Listen as they share stories, memories, and life experiences
    • Play cards, work on a puzzle, or enjoy a simple conversation
    • Visit a patient in a nursing facility who would benefit from companionship
    • Provide a reassuring presence while a family caregiver takes a much-needed break
    • Offer encouragement, friendship, and a reminder that someone cares

These simple acts of kindness can reduce feelings of loneliness, provide emotional support, and bring comfort to both patients and their families.

At VitalCaring Hospice, our volunteers are an important part of the care team. We provide training, ongoing support, and flexible scheduling that fits your availability.

If you have a compassionate heart and a desire to make a difference, we invite you to join us. An hour of your time can bring comfort, dignity, and joy to someone facing one of life's most difficult journeys.

Volunteer today and help ensure that no hospice patient feels alone.

Your presence matters. Your kindness matters. You matter.
