RARE Rescue Volunteer

RARE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Middle Tennessee dedicated to rescuing at-risk animals from underserved rural communities, placing them in foster and adoptive homes throughout the greater Nashville area, and reducing overpopulation through education and spay/neuter assistance.

Your willingness to contribute your time and energy makes a meaningful difference for the animals in our area. Volunteers like you play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission!

Events:

• Set up and breakdown tents, crates, merch/info table
• Assist in monitoring animals during event
• Ability to discuss RARE and its mission and answer questions event guests may have

Transport:

• Must have reliable transportation with enough space for a crate
• Transport animals to and from events
• Transport animals from one foster to another
• Transport medication or supplies to fosters or adopters

Social Media Content:

• Able to think of engaging videos ideas, trends, hooks, and storytelling angles
• Understanding of audience engagement
• Good communication

Grant Research:

• Submit applications
• Send letters of interest for grants that align with our organization
• Track grant updates and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with grant guidelines and timely submission of all required reports by their deadlines.

1510 Submissions ( medical case reimbursement):

• Submit cases with story of animal, pictures and videos, and estimated invoice of medical costs
• Updates after medical procedure
• Updates after adoption

Program & Partnership Development:

• Community development/enrichment programs (ie. partnering with senior center to bring dogs)
• Assist with foster program by creating partnerships with venues to promote foster animals
• Work with events team when creating partnerships for puppy parties

Fundraising Management:

• Creative and strategic fundraising ideas
• Oversees donor recognition, donor engagement, monthly donor retention
• Will often work with marketing and events team

Dodo Submissions (A website for heartwarming and hilarious animal stories):

• Content and story gathering to present via email

Donations Organizer:

• Location in Columbia TN

Accountant:

• 2-3 hours per week
• Experience with Quickbooks
