    Description

    Volunteers United/AmeriCorps Seniors recruits volunteers for non-profit agencies in Martin County, matching volunteer interests and skills to create a meaningful, rewarding volunteer experience.

    The mission of the organization where this opportunity is caring for life, researching for health and educating those who serve.

    Volunteers are wanted for the Surgical Waiting Room.

    Duties include:

    • Greeting patients and family members.
    • Assisting family members when checking in for procedures.
    • Communicating with staff on behalf of patients.
    • Explaining tracker board.
    • Escorting patients to appropriate areas.
    • Visiting family members in waiting rooms.
    • Completing one 5 hour shift per week.
    • Sitting, walking, some standing.
    • Excellent people skills.

    This position is fast paced and requires a background check and orientation.
