Position Overview
When disaster strikes a local community, Disaster Action Team (DAT) Duty Officer volunteers provide immediate logistical and technical support to ensure Red Cross emergency response teams have the tools, coordination, and information needed to help affected families.
This is a fully virtual volunteer role supporting home fires and other emergency responses throughout New Jersey.
What You’ll Do
As a DAT Duty Officer volunteer, you’ll work as part of a coordinated response team and collaborate closely with Red Cross leadership to support families in crisis by:
- 🏠 Supporting on‑scene volunteers and Red Cross leadership during disaster responses
- 🤝 Dispatching and coordinating Disaster Action Team volunteers
- 📦 Liaising with Red Cross stakeholders and partners to secure needed resources
