    Description

Hospice Care has a history of utilizing Volunteers as part of the support of patients and families. Volunteers don't do any hands-on care, but they are present to engage, support or distract the patient/family, as the patient/family wrestle with, or become at peace with, end-of-lise issues.

You, as a Volunteer, can be a consistent companion, visiting weekly to journey along the patient's final months and days in this life. The nature of your visits may change from full conversations, to reading to the patient, to watching TV or listening to music, to silently being present as the patient's final breaths are taken. Perhaps due to disease process, you may spend time keeping the patient safe by redirecting them when they try activities that they can no longer do.

If you have time to give to one, two, or more patients, please consider sharing yourself with our patients/fanilies. Replying to this post will get you more information about our onboarding process.

As a volunteer with Vitality Hospice and Palliative Care you would be an integral part of our team, and build unforgettable relationships with patients and caregivers.

We strive to bring joy and life into the lives of those with advanced illness. Our mission is to improve symptom burden and quality of life of patients and caregivers through evidence based interventions, superior service and therapeutic support. We would love to welcome you into our hospice family.
