    Want to help shape the future of sustainable transportation in greater Boston and beyond? Join us!

    Green Streets Initiative is looking for a new Part Time Executive Director to guide the organization into its next chapter. Lead programs that build community momentum and turn it into real impact and healthier and more vibrant streets, transit systems, and communities.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a new leader to shape a new future for themselves and the organization. They will build on GSI’s 20 year history with our unique fun, innovative, and effective programs that advance the awareness and uptake of active transportation in schools, workplaces, cities, and towns.

    The position is unpaid to start, as the new ED will determine the direction of the organization and related paths to income streams, salaries, and financial sustainability.

    Job-sharing can also be considered and could be a great option for the right people.

    Responsibilities / Role Overview

    • The new Executive Director will be expected to work 20-30 hours a week to start.
    • Collaborate with the Board of Directors, partners, staff, and interns to oversee day-to-day operations of Green Streets programs as well to help build toward the organization’s long term vision.
    • Explore and develop income streams potentially including grants, donations, sponsorships, and fee for service programs.

    Qualifications / Desired Attributes

    • Strong interest in active and sustainable transportation as key to sustainable and livable communities.
    • Bachelor’s are preferred and advanced degrees are welcome.
    • Creativity and flexibility, along with the ability to listen, learn, and communicate well, are essential
    • History of collaborating with community partners, advocacy organizations, municipal leaders, and individuals of all backgrounds
