    Description

    Volunteer Program Coordinator - NYC Based

    H.AAPI is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and execution of organizational programs. In this role, you will help ensure programs are delivered effectively, on time, and in alignment with organizational goals and community needs.

    You will work closely with leadership and the broader team to support program delivery, assist in the development of new initiatives, and contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven environment. This role is focused on program coordination and execution support, serving as a key operational partner for H.AAPI’s programs team.

    Strategic impact: This role helps ensure programs run smoothly, supports community engagement, and enables H.AAPI to deliver high-quality experiences that advance its mission and serve the AAPI community effectively.

    H.AAPI’s mission is to support the AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) community in thriving through networking, programs, resources, and tools.

    Our vision is to serve as a bridge for individuals across different stages of life, fields, interests, hobbies, and professional goals to engage, exchange information, and build meaningful connections through our events and programming.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Plan and coordinate programs from start to finish, including goals, timelines, and execution, in collaboration with the team.
    • Support program logistics and ensure activities align with internal guidelines and organizational policies.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of new program ideas, contributing to program growth and innovation.
    • Provide operational support during program delivery and events, ensuring smooth execution and participant experience.
    • Support cross-functional coordination with team members as needed to align program efforts.
    • Participate in post-program review and feedback discussions to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Complete ad hoc program-related assignments as needed to support organizational priorities.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Interest in H.AAPI’s mission and commitment to supporting the AAPI community
    • Strong organizational, communication, and attention to detail skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
    • Comfort using basic digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Teams, with willingness to learn new systems
    • Reliable access to a laptop and stable internet connection
    • Ability and willingness to travel within NYC for program support with advance notice

    Preferred:

    • Experience in program coordination, nonprofit work, or startup environments
    • Experience working in team-based or community-focused settings
    • A well-developed design instinct

    Education

    Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Education, Social Work, Communications, or a related field preferred.
