    Description

Conner Prairie Youth Volunteer - General Program

Conner Prairie is a history museum in Fishers, Indiana. Our General Youth Volunteer Program teaches youth history in a hands-on immersion environment, making learning painless, personal, and fun.

Our General Program focuses on interacting with our guests. Youth volunteer in both historic costume and modern clothes in areas of our historic grounds such as 1836 Prairietown, 1816 Lenape Camp, Animal Encounters Barn, Textiles, and special events. If you enjoy leading activities, history, people, public speaking, and don’t mind a little old-fashioned sweat and hard work, this program may be for you! Open to youth ages 10-18. Volunteer term lasts at least one year with a minimum of 120 hours required. We are most active in the spring, summer, and fall.

Application process is extensive. The applications for the 2026 season can be found online at https://www.connerprairie.org/volunteer and are due January 9, 2026.

Please reach out to YouthVolunteers@connerprairie.org with questions.
