Sewing Support for Grief Program

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled sewing volunteer to support our hospice bereavement program.

This meaningful role involves creating memory items—such as keepsake pillows, quilts, or other remembrance pieces—from a loved one’s clothing or personal fabrics. These handcrafted items provide comfort to grieving families and serve as lasting reminders of connection and love.

Responsibilities may include:

• Sewing memory pillows and other keepsakes from donated garments
• Handling clothing and materials with care and respect
• Following provided patterns and simple design guidelines
• Communicating with staff regarding timelines and special requests

We are looking for someone who:

• Has basic to intermediate sewing skills
• Can work independently from home or on-site
• Understands the sensitive nature of working with personal items
• Is dependable and able to complete projects within agreed timeframes

This role is ideal for someone who finds meaning in quiet, behind-the-scenes service and wants to offer comfort in a tangible, heartfelt way.
