Discord Community Manager

We coach activists to lead lawful, nonviolent civil resistance against Trump and his enablers.

Through strategic campaigns, toolkits, boycotts, and community organizing, we’re contributing to the movement to resist this authoritarian administration and begin rebuilding our democracy — and we’re going to win.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a thoughtful and steady Discord Community Manager to help cultivate a welcoming, safe, and mission-aligned online space for activists across the #ResistTrump ecosystem. This role is central to building trust, maintaining nonviolent discipline, and supporting activists as they connect, learn, and organize together.

The Discord Community Manager plays both a culture-setting and operational role—helping members navigate the server, enforcing community standards, and coordinating with campaign and leadership teams to ensure Discord remains a healthy digital organizing hub.

This role requires a weekly commitment of five hours, including participation in relevant coordination meetings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Moderate the #ResistTrump Discord server in alignment with our Code of Conduct and nonviolent principles
• Welcome new members and help orient them to channels, norms, and available resources
• Enforce community guidelines consistently, calmly, and transparently
• De-escalate conflict and support psychological safety within the community
• Coordinate with campaign, tech, and leadership teams on announcements and initiatives
• Identify recurring issues, questions, or needs and surface them to staff or leadership
• Help maintain clear channel organization and documentation

Ideal Candidate

• Deep commitment to democracy, social justice, and lawful, nonviolent resistance
• Strong alignment with the mission and values of the #ResistTrump Campaign
• Experience moderating online communities (Discord experience strongly preferred)
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in sensitive or high-stakes situations
• Strong written communication and interpersonal skills

• Discreet with sensitive information and interpersonal conflicts
