    Description

Uni Care Hospice is a nonprofit organization helping patients manage their serious illness care near the end of life. They provide compassionate end-of-life care that focuses on physical, social, and spiritual needs as well as grief support. Hospice care focuses on all aspects of an individual's life and wellbeing when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to curative treatment. While patients are supported by impactful comfort care, nature is gently allowed to take its course. This can be an overwhelming, and lonely time for those at the end of their lives and their families. Volunteers meet with patients to give them joy, and companionship.

Once you complete the Hospice Volunteer Training you will be paired with a patient to visit them. At the visit you will get to know the patient and work on becoming friends and making a connection. Things you can do together: make art, garden, watch movies or shows together, write their life story, help with chores around the house, or just simply spend time together.
