Veterans Needed for Hospice and Illness Companionship

Very often, only another Veteran truly understands. That is the simple reasoning behind the establishment of our new Vet-to-Vet program, seeking to recruit Veteran volunteers to serv e the unique needs of Veteran patients.

Our Vet-to-Vet volunteers will make weekly visits to patients who are on hospice, are disabled, or living with advanced illness - providing emotional support, companionship, or simply quiet acceptance. When one of our patients identifies as a Veteran, their presence will be our most important asset. This is a simple but powerful way to be of service to each other, and to the larger community of veterans.

Training is provided and can be individualized to fit your schedule.

Individuals are encouraged to wait a year after the loss of a significant person before serving as a Home Hospice volunteer working with patients, families or caregivers.
