    Description

    Sacred Art Crafting And Fabrication

    Calling Artists & Craftspeople! Buddhist Art "Work- Study" Program.

    This is a Work-Study Resident Volunteer program which includes housing, meals, meaningful work, living allowance and classes.

    Give your full engagement to the sacred art projects, while learning about Buddhism through classes, practices and study sessions. Also broad instruction in Buddhist art and architecture.

    Benefits:

    • Housing - comfortable room with balcony, one roommate, overlooking Temples, ocean.
    • Vegetarian meals
    • Stipend — $200 per month, $300 after one year
    • Skill development in a wide range of trades and traditional arts
    • Buddhist study, meditation, mantra and Buddhist practices

    Buddhist Sacred Art projects for 2026

    • Craft 186 Clay Stupas: A monumental project crafting in red terracotta clay. Stupas are Buddhist sacred monuments that represent and activate harmonious and healing forces in the world.
    • Buddhist Sacred Art Installation: Work in the creative realm of art installation, both outdoors and in the temples. Provides opportunity to experience and learn a wide range of skills including metal work and welding, wood work, decorative casting and finished in concrete, sublimation printing on fabric, ceramics and aluminum, and more.

    You must be physically strong and good with working with your hands, with some experience in using tools in any trade. The Odiyan lifestyle is a physically active. Gaining self-knowledge and giving to a higher vision are honored values.

    Program begins January, 2026 with entry dates available until May 2026
