Description
The Food Coordinator is responsible for supporting the management of the weekly Feeding Phoenix food distribution, engaging volunteers, coordinating food inventory, and supporting complementary food programs. The role requires attention to detail, adaptability, and leadership to sustain efficient and dignified food access for the community.
Essential Responsibilities & Time Allocation
Operate Feeding Phoenix's Weekend Food Distribution – 55%
- Oversee weekly mobile food distribution, ensuring seamless execution, including site preparation, food management, and volunteer coordination.
- Maintain accurate tracking of food received, identifying gaps, and adjusting distribution plans accordingly.
- Develop bilingual food box flyers and messaging, including nutrition resources and recipes.
- Ensure accurate data collection and reporting to partner organizations.
- Adapt and problem-solve for unforeseen logistical challenges while maintaining a hospitable distribution experience.
Cultivate a Community of Participants – 45%
- Create a welcoming, organized volunteer environment, including recruitment, assignments, and recognition.
- Engage food recipients to foster deeper connections with CCF programs and services.
- Coordinate communications and outreach, including text messaging, bilingual materials, and printed resources.
- Promote SNAP enrollment efforts at food distributions and ensure integration with hunger relief programs.
- Work with the marketing team to capture and share stories that highlight food program impact.
- Foster youth engagement and leadership within food programs.
