    We Need Good Drivers!  Enjoy Driving? Help Save Lives! (Drive Vitalant Vehicle)

    Hospitals depend on us for timely transportation of blood. Volunteers assist our Hospital Services Department by making deliveries to Northern California counties. A valid CA driver license, a good driving record, and the ability to lift shipping boxes (approximately 40 pounds) are required. MUST be at least 25 years of age for insurance purposes. You drive a Vitalant company vehicle. 6 month commitment required.

    We will set up ride alongs with other volunteers or staff to see if this opportunity is a good fit for you.

    We are in great need of volunteer drivers to deliver supplies and blood on designated routes in Vitalant vehicles leaving from and returning to the Mather lab. HQ location: 10536 Peter A. McCuen Blvd., Mather, CA 95655. Providing service to the community and patients in need.

    • The routes are set times, and we need volunteers Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 am-4 pm.
    • We need volunteers once a week or to fill in for other volunteers when needed.
    • Must be 25 years of age; CA Driver license, Excellent driving record and great customer service skills.
    • You will go on ride-alongs with other volunteers or staff to determine if this opportunity is a good fit for you.
    • For this transportation volunteer opportunity, you must be vaccinated for COVID (first vaccinations) due to our hospital partners requirements.

    Keep in mind that volunteering in no way gives an edge for Vitalant employment and volunteers are not allowed to perform regulated tasks or receive hands-on donor clinical experience. We are not able to offer internships, mentoring or job shadowing. Vitalant does not accept volunteers for court ordered community service hours.

    • Must be at least 25 years old to volunteer as a Transportation Volunteer with Vitalant
    • Background check (no credit or financial information involved)-Must have SS#
    • Must have excellent customer service skills
    • Good driving record
    • Valid CA driver license
    • COVID vaccinated (for drivers only-due to contact with Hospital partners)
    • Vitalant does NOT accept volunteers for court ordered community service hours
